Peges i Ljusdal AB acquires the operations of Jonsson & Paulsson Industri AB in Östersund

Ljusdal/Östersund, 1 April 2026

Peges i Ljusdal AB has acquired the operations of Jonsson & Paulsson Industri AB. The company, which had run an engineering and metalworking business in Östersund since 1981, filed for bankruptcy in early 2026 following a period of strained liquidity. Since then, the business has continued to operate as a bankruptcy estate, maintaining production and deliveries to its customers.

As of 1 April 2026, the operations will continue under the newly formed company JP Industri AB, a wholly owned subsidiary within the Peges Group. Operations will continue in the same premises, with the same focus and staff as during the period of bankruptcy administration.

"The staff in Östersund have shown an impressive effort during a difficult period. They have held the business together, retained the trust of their customers and delivered with quality. This has given us a strong conviction that there is a bright future for this company," says Lars Wallström, CEO of Peges i Ljusdal AB.

Two production facilities

Through the acquisition, the Peges Group gains two complete production facilities with a combined production area of more than 21,000 square metres. Each business has, in its own right, worked to offer end-to-end solutions to its customers, though with somewhat different profiles.

While Peges has its strengths in medium-gauge sheet metal and fully assembled subsystems, JP Industri has capacity for a heavier range of larger workpieces, thicker sheet metal and large-scale painting. By bringing these capabilities together, the Group broadens its offering and makes it possible for production to be refined further between the units depending on volume and focus, giving customers greater flexibility and resources.

Part of a larger initiative

The acquisition is a further step in Peges' growth strategy. Earlier this year, the company announced an investment of more than SEK 70 million in its facility in Ljusdal, with the defence industry identified as a growth area. With JP Industri, heavy production capacity is now added, further broadening the Group's offering.

Synergies and collaboration

The synergies between the units are significant. Logistics solutions between the two locations are already in place, and the exchange of experience between Ljusdal and Östersund will enable development within production engineering and working methods in both directions. Two collaborating production units also create valuable economies of scale, and the Group can allocate production according to need.

Staff and continued development

Peges' ambition is to build on the expertise and customer relationships that exist in Östersund, and to gradually develop the business as part of the Group. JP Industri has a well-established customer base and an experienced workforce.

"When we visited the facility, we were impressed by both the skill of the staff and the strong conditions in production. The company had previously been over-dimensioned, and during its time as a bankruptcy estate, the necessary adjustments and efficiency measures were carried out in line with existing production volumes. There is still work to be done, but we see great opportunities for growth ahead – our goal is to develop and grow the company," say Nils-Göran Pege and Leif Pege, owners of Peges i Ljusdal AB.
